10:30am – Ruth Illingworth: ‘The many owners of Belvedere House, including its last private owners, Charles Howard Bury and Rex Beaumont’. 11:20am- Ian Kenneally: ‘Charles Howard Bury and the 1921 British reconnaissance mission to Mount Everest’ this talk will include photos from Howard-Bury’s own collection. 12:10pm-Marc Mc Menamin: ‘Renowned mountaineer George Mallory, his links to Ireland and his death on Mount Everest in 1924’. 1pm – 2pm – Lunch Break. 2pm – Frank Nugent: ‘Irish pioneers of the ‘golden age of Alpine exploration’ including Anthony Adams Reilly of Mullingar, among many others’.
